What is the IoMSA?
The Isle of Man Swimming Association monitors and co-ordinates swimming o­n the Isle of Man. It oversees the training and selection of swimmers to compete in the bi-annual Natwest Island Games.
The Games offer an excellent opportunity to compete at an international level against other islands in an event that has an ever increasingly high standard of competition. The next Natwest Island Games is to be held in Åland - 2009.
Where can I learn to swim?
The Isle of Man Swimming Club does not teach swimming, but provides training for those who can already swim. More information about learning to swim in the Isle of Man can be found on the National Sports Centre pages.
Why are there such big gaps in the layout?
This website has been designed to display correctly on the most popular web browsers (Internet Explorer 7 and Internet Explorer 8, FireFox 2 and Safari). Unfortunately, due to the limited resources of our development team we can't test this site on all of the possible web browser / operating system combinations. As a result, the site might display incorrectly under some circumstances. The site is known to display incorrectly when viewed with Internet Explorer 6 (IE6). How do I join? / How do I become a member of the Island Swimming Squad?
The coaching committee led by the National Coach review the squad on a quarterly basis. The committee seek recommendations from the club coaches (Douglas (Isle of Man) Swimming Club, Ramseian Swimming Club, Southern Swimming Club). The committee base their decisions on performance, potential, commitment and age.
